Preparing For Fall & Winter Milking
Anyone that knows me knows I'm not a fan of cold weather.
Last winter we stopped milking on Feb. 27th because it got so cold that even the cows were shivering.
At some point the cows have to take a break and prepare for the babies, they need at least 70 days of rest and relaxation.
I don't know when we will dry the cows off this winter but I will give you at least 30 days notice. At that point we will have a 70 day break!

If, and this is a BIG IF I bring in another cow we will not have missed milk at all. The current cows will have a break but I wont... : )
