Health / Medications and possible delays **IMPORTANT**

Since we are a small farm with a limited number of animals there may be times

when your milk is delayed. Our goal is to keep the animal as healthy as possible and

to avoid the use of any medications. There are certain common situations that

require medical intervention such as Mastitis, respiratory infections or accidents

causing injury to the animal. If those situations occur and require medication the

animal must be pulled from the milk line a hold is put on milk production and

medication is given. No milk is distributed until after the medication has completely

cleared the animals system 48 – 72 hours in most cases.

Dry Off Periods

All dairy animals must be dried off for a min 60 days prior to calving. You

will be notified in advance of a dry off period and milk will stop for the time

needed. We will resume approx 1 week after the calf is born.

Gallons Per Day

Dairy animals are very sensitive. Milk production can go up and down on a daily

basis. Some days our cows produce 2 gallons and other days 5 gallons it all

depends on mood, her feed and her calves needs.

What if you are gone and don’t pick milk up?

We keep your milk for 3 days. If you are out of town or unable to pick your milk up

the milk is disposed of after the 3rd. day. You simply pick it up on your next available

day.

**Your fees do not change! Members are still liable for regular monthly fees**

While this may sound harsh this is why.

Each member has reserved that milk and the milk can not be sold to anyone else.

We can not make up for lost milk the following week (example; providing you with double milk when you get back) because that would short other members for their regular pick up.

The program must go on as usual even if you fail to pick milk up.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments!

We are always outside working with the animals but we check our

emails and phone messages numerous times a day, so make sure you

leave a message!
